Shipping & Returns

VAT & Local Taxes

These are also explained in the Shipping & Returns link at the bottom of the page. Basically, if the delivery address is in the EU you pay the VAT, if not you don't. EU businesses can be supplied net of VAT on production of a valid VAT number. Deliveries outside of the EU will be subject to local taxes. We do not supply false customs declarations.

Currency & Payments

Winding Roads is a UK company and all our prices and payments are taken in UK pounds (£). We accept on line payments by Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and bank transfer.

Stocking

We try to keep our products on the shelf wherever possible, but seasonal demands and fluctuations can lead to some items being unavailable at times. So we do not guarantee availability from stock for all items. We aim to dispatch most goods within 48 hours of order, and non-stock products within 2 - 14 days.

Shop Visits

Winding Roads is a mail order business, and not a traditional 9 to 5 'shop'. However, we do have a showroom and welcome visitors who wish to come and look at products and options prior to purchase. If you do wish to visit please give us a call in advance as the demands of our business mean we can often be busy elsewhere.

Pricing

We are a business and need to earn a profit to pay the bills the same as everyone else. When comparing the cost of goods in the US and elsewhere with our prices, please bear in mind the costs of shipping, import duties, transaction / brokerage charges and VAT, which can easily add 30% plus to the listed price. Asking US suppliers to ship as a "Gift" does not avoid these charges where the value is over £40, and false declarations can lead to goods being confiscated at Customs.

Also bear in mind that any problems with goods purchased outside of the UK will need to be returned to that supplier. We accpet no responsibility for problems with products / brands we import / sell but have not supplied.

We try hard to price products at a margin that allows us to stay in business and give a fair return on our time and investment. We dont subscribe to the 'overprice it and then discount it' model of sales that larger retailers selling Far East products do, and you won't find us at the regular "discount bazaar" shows selling off products at less than cost. We try to sell quality products at fair prices, you would be rightly offended if your boss asked you to work for 15% less this week, so please try not to ask us to.

With currency and shipping cost fluctuations, please be aware that we reserve the right to ammend prices without prior notification.

Sizing


We try to be as accurate as possible when detailing dimensions and capacities of our products, but do not guarantee or take repsonsibilty for and inaccuracies that may occur.

Credit Card Fraud

Due entirely to the increase in credit card and mail order fraud, we reserve the right to send goods only to a card holders address which has been verified with the credit card company.
